A need for one truth
Vikan's products set the standard for sanitary operations in the food and beverage industry and other hygiene-sensitive environments. With global sales and an extensive internal life cycle for each product, the organization needs a reliable way to coordinate and adapt to performance benchmarks within e.g. sales, production, economy and quality. Vikan's internal activities and new product lines are becoming more complex and are constantly evolving as Vikan expands.

CFO, Svend Erik Svendsen explains:
"We want to be more data-oriented. Our teams need to be able to stay informed about daily sales, order intake, delivery prices, inventory, etc."

Vikan needed a reliable Business Intelligence tool that could unify and simplify their interconnected source systems and different information sources.

High transparency and ease of use
Vikan chose the TARGIT tool for managing their data management and reporting needs. TARGIT is known for its straightforward approach to a user-friendly interface, which makes it easy for anyone to access insightful reporting.

"TARGIT is a very intuitive tool to work with as a user. Once you have access to the system, you can drill down into various analyses very easily," says Svendsen.

Transparency is a critical element in the management of Vikan's international delivery partnerships. The problem is that the different partners use different technologies to report on their sales, contacts and orders. However, Vikan needs to know what the various partners are selling through their production facilities.

In collaboration with Accobat, Vikan has developed and implemented their very own Vikan Sales Explorer.

This bespoke reporting solution uses TARGIT's robust reporting capabilities to combine data from external markets, internal sales and distributors.

The solution gives the user the opportunity to get an overview of regional sales trends and performance on a dynamic map, which can also be filtered by product line, buyer, industry and distributor etc.

A good starting point for growth

Svendsen explains how Vikan can use their new Sales Explorer to inform decision makers about future expansion and growth opportunities: "When we dive into the various analyzes, we can answer questions such as: What is the market potential in this area? How much do we sell? How much do our distributors sell? "

The collaboration with Accobat

"We have been working with Accobat for about 4 years now. Vikan is a 'no-nonsense' company that strives to make agreements and then stick to them. We knew we would not work with an enterprise company whose goal would be to sell us as many solutions as possible before the contract expired "says Svendsen.

"Accobat has a very pragmatic approach to advice with both reliable support and transparent communication. The consulting house has from the beginning tried to create a long-lasting and mutually beneficial relationship with the Vikan team, and shows that they are sincerely interested in advising and not just selling" says Svend Erik Svendsen, CFO.
